Weren’t we talking about long-drawn-out beginnings?
I guess the question is- how long and drawn out?
I am going through my files, you see, looking for fragments that I can bring to some of the groups here- short bits that will amuse, and let me *cough* show my chops a little. I am amazed at how many intros I have! AMAZED, I tell you!
I went to a really hot RP thread I’ve been playing on. Macho drag queen? I thought- that should be easy to excerpt from. But when I cut Bon Bon and Joey out of their jail setting, there’s so little indication of what their relationship is- why Joey would allow, essentially, to be raped.
I have a whole hunk of a novel, with a lot of hot sex in it. But it’s all so embedded into the novel. There are a lot of other people around. I don’t want to cut out excerpts in this case, I’m too attached to the characters…. Are rock stars and fashion models who work in japan too pretentious for the reader anyways? Even if the models are just normal girls trying to get a job done- none of those big famous high fashion models. I was there, trust me it’s NOT glamourous. Would you put the book down before you’d read it? Your thoughts on this, I beg of thee!
