second place- twice.
The story of a couple of stories and one more.
I offered my lesbian first-time story “Meeting Robby” (posted on literotica) to cleansheets.com. This is an erotica magazine that actually PAYS for submissions. My first story online ever, was published there; “When Petey met Yuri” (I’m not that original with names, you’ll notice)
where was I? oh, yeah… so, anyway, I got back a letter from Cleansheets a couple weeks ago;
Dear Stella Omega,
your story has cleared the first round of approval, and will go to the second stage
Whee!
Well, I just got the rejection letter. It was very sweet. They pointed out that a story has to be good to even get to second stage, and that they only publish 58 stories a year out of hundreds that they get. So, that’s reasonable. And the pay has dropped- from fifty bucks to twenty-five.
Anyway, the story is doing well at Literotica- my highest scoring story of all. Funny…
Meeting Robby;
a short story about sexual discovery
warnings; explicit lesbian sex- vanilla but wordy
can be read here
When Petey Met Yuri;
Opposites attract
warnings; BDSM, butch dyke top, gay male bottom, anal, motorcycles
can be read at cleansheets (notice that I was still figuring out a nom de plume back in ’01)
or at literotica
Anyway, my second second place? I JUST now realised, that my poem “Sonnet to Rochester” was nominated, for poem of the year, at Lit!
Didn’t win, but out of thousands of poems, only five were nominated at all…
