The work includes some spoilers for Quicksilver but not so many. Their writing style is very much in Neil Stephenson’s voice, their plots are even better than their smut- and the smut will leave you babbling, speechless. If you’ve never read Stevenson’s work you probably will after this introduction…
Jack Shaftoe’s glory shines forth only a little diminished from Stephenson’s novels. Though he keeps female company (ewww het) and bad things happen to him. Also, his eyes are the wrong colour. (No, really. We were both very thrown by The System of the World in which this became clear.)
I submit that we notify Stephenson of his error, and I’m sure he’ll rectify it in the next edition….
So frustrating; Because I gots to make every penny count, I ordered the books used from the marketplace. This means that each book is being sent separately, and at the whim of the individual seller. I have received “Confusion” and “system”- but no.1 is probably walking to my door, under its own power.
And the hardcover books have the most scrumptious oxidised-metallic covers! Like candy wrappers. My mouth is watering.

I like our Bootstrap much better than DMC-Bootstrap (though the latter does have a certain louche charm, and I love the shambling and the stoop).
