On the topic of words such as; cunt, coward, snap, and slut. And the N word.
Neo_Prodigy (neo_prodigy) replied to a comment you left in a LiveJournal

Ah ha ha ha!
So because he deleted my comment and banned me from his lj, I have another word for him, which is "coward." Which is non-gendered, non-racial and plenty insulting.
Because really, there are plenty of insults available for us all to use that apply exactly to a person and exactly to his behavior.

But the "Oh Snap’ still stands.
When you put the word "sluts" into google, you get 27,000,000 returns, most of which refer to women as sexually useable and disposable. That’s a lot of point of view, and a lot of women being looked at as disposable– because, presumably, they said "yes" for any reason whatsoever, to a man.
And I’m wondering now, if I am being a hypocrite, using the handle "dharma slut."
I am inclined to think that putting "dharma" in front of "slut" limits the words drastically. I’ve always felt that it described my journey towards knowledge rather well; I explore any line of thinking that comes my way, and in my life I’ve explored hundreds of branches of philosophy, science, and art. And yeah, a bit of irony and reclamation. And yanno, a sly allusion to my Don Jaun-esque love life, but a butch doesn’t talk… Oh hell, of course a butch talks! I’ve been mighty promiscuous in my life. If "slut" can be reclaimed– as describing a person with a preferred activity– than I hereby reclaim it. If "cunt" can be reclaimed, I hereby do os, because I have one. "Bitch"– I live with cats, not dogs. There’s no need for the word.
Anyway, "dharma slut?" Have i just PC’d my handle into oblivion? I am a damn fine wordsmith, and I know I can come up with something equally good. Cause I’m good that way.
It’s amazing how I don’t completely understand what you’re on about (my vocab is obviously a lot more limited than I thought!) and yet thoroughly enjoy reading it. Also, I’d hate to get into a fight with you, I’d be crying in the corner over my inferior intellect, much like Neo_Prodigy is probably doing right now.
I have to say that this issue is why I haven’t supported the FOC_U community by posting the banner. After hearing what neo said about women and my folks, no matter how good the cause I just couldn’t get behind him.
See, that’s just fucked up. That’s when “I’m sorry” is more important than self-righteousness.
And me? I get to make a choice between my sex, and my white ally credentials.
Neo_prodigy making his membership decisions based on his own feelings diminishes the community into highschool clique antics.
For me, hearing all this, all it came down to for me was that I can’t get behind someone who is doing work to increase awareness and respect for minorities if that person has actively demeaned other minorities and not owned up to it or acknowledged the hypocritical nature of it.
Sad cause when I first saw the formation of FOC_U, I thought it was a great idea.

I’ve met plenty of polyamorous people who’ve cheerfully reclaimed “slut” (or, in one case, “great big slutty slut slut”). I see nothing at all wrong with that.
