My stories at impverse
Once upon a time, two women met. How, I don’t know– it might have been via internet. Something happened, some sort of synergistic mind (well, not mind exactly) explosion and “The imp of Perversity” sprang into being. The Impverse, of course, is the delightful AU that combines the “Pirates Of The Caribbean” with the tripartite “Baroque Cycle,” written by Neal Stephenson. Most specifically, this AU combines Jack Sparrow, (dark dervish of piratical wickedness) with Jack Shaftoe (tall and bright but no less devilish vagabond).
And I lost many hours of sleep, reading sweet, romantic and slightly grubby smut. Many, many.
I had made a vow to not write fan fiction. I had reminded myself that I was perfectly capable of building worlds, drawing characters, plotting plots. But having glimpsed the wonders of the Impverse, I broke my vow. And and were writers such as called to my soul. Honest! I thought– here is my home. And slash is good. And we can write as many original characters as we want, and Jamie Martingale has won my heart and soul.
And thus it was that the words flowed, baby.

But first, the legal disclaimer; Pirates Of The Caribbean is owned by Disney; Jack Shaftoe is owned by Neal Stephenson. I think they’d al lbe much happier with me– but I always send them home when we’re done playing. I make no coin from my labors, you’d think I’d know better.
