My favorite comment of the morning;
Comes from another part of the internet. A friend of mine said;
I am, for all intents and purposes, a WASP and I felt the film failed (as I said numerous times) due to lack of original story and lack of good heroes/especially heroines.
In this film, (spoiler) the ‘aborigines’ get rid of the white people, not once, BUT TWICE! Wouldn’t it have been a kicker if the heroine, Naytiri, just said fuck you, I actually love the guy who is supposed to be my husband (aka, my arranged marriage to the potential King guy), killed the white hero because he was an over-confident intruder, asshole and liar, tamed the wild beast (one of those awesome helicopters with rockets and shit) and defeated the Marines at their own game. NOW THAT would be a somewhat original movie!
To which I say;
I would PAY to see that one!
So– who’s gonna get with me to write it?

It’s not about a lack of people to write it — it’s about a lack of publishers/studios to make it. It wouldn’t appeal to the Great White Male Audience, therefore would not sell enough tickets. Be prepared to self-publish or make an indie film.
totally true– the guyz wouldn’t spend the production money on that one.
Maybe a diff venue? Hey, Buffy did juuuust fine…
Whedon has been kinda faily in that direction ever since Buffy ended.
Yeah, I’ve hear that. Just hoping somebody else might notice and pick up the gap in the market there.
