I has a booboo
and I’ve had it for just about one week.
I sliced open my left-hand little finger, last Saturday, severing the tendon that lets it curl inward. I spent Saturday afternoon getting a temporary stitching, then waited 60 hours at County General waiting for a window so the ortho surgeons could repair the tendon. That was an amazing adventure, I have a lot to say about Los Angeles’s oldest hospital, and the wonderful, inspirational people who work there.
Except it’s left me with one typing hand, and no way to do my woodwork. My entire hand is completely immobilised, in a big club-shaped cast. Although I am more dominant towards the right, I use both hands, constantly, in everything.
I might get the cast off on the 21st, so I am practising patience and my right hand is getting tired– it has to type twice as many letters as before!
Damn, I’m sorry! That sucks, and tops my own misadventures with dentistry this week. I hope you heal fast ♥

Stella, I’m so sorry to hear this news. Besides being painful and scary it must be just incredibly frustrating for you.
My husband has done similar things…with both power and hand tools, and recovered well.
I will believe that you will too.
That sounds like it would be quite a story. Can you try out some speech recognition software and dictate it?
And look how beautiful your post is despite your situation–you didn’t e.e.cummings it, even with a perfectly valid reason to do so.
