How to keep lj away from your facebook page

Posted by Probablepossible on Sep 1, 2010 in Blogging |

it may come as a shock, but my name isn’t really Stella Omega :D

Facebook is the only internet place where  i use my real name, and the only place i use my "home" email address. Stella has her own home address– which gets about 90% of my incoming email.

lj can’t connect the dharma slut to the neighborhood lady with the in-laws and friends of children because there is no connection… That lady doesn’t use twitter, and she isn’t friended with Stella. Although now that my kids are adults I might stop worrying about it, because I don’t care about the in-laws sensibilities all that much.

The main reason I don’t want to connect my lj with fb is because of that thing about "all your content are ours."

  • yep, I don’t connect the two … if I want posts I make here to appear there, I copy the text and post a “note” on my FB

Well actually the problem is worse than I thought. Comments can be sent to facebook at the commenter’s discretion– even from a *locked post.* If anyone tries to follow that link they’ll get Frank’s horrifying face instead, but you know how comments are… And I, for instance, cannot disable the FB link for *other people* in my own lj.

LOL! Whoops…am I suppose to worry about that AFTER my kid grows up…?! NOES!
Teasing, teasing. I was just talking with her the other night about knowing where you can ‘give’ and do what isn’t really you, but makes others ‘comfortable’ but knowing when to draw the line because their ‘comfort level’ bashes in something deep inside you…
I get what you’re saying about Facebook–thanks for the post. I really don’t know much about the issue–but I hate facebook, so I have a barebones account that is not connected to lj–like yourself.
