You probably haven’t been following along, but a lot of fandom writers have been rearing up on their hind legs to protest the term “Mary Sue” which is supposed to mean “a self-insert that is so totally wonderful in all ways that she warps the canon material into unrecognisability,” and I am working on a big old meta post about that issue…
Laurell K. Hamilton’s forum prohibits the use of the term “Mary Sue.” Really!
