Thyroid problems
Wow.
I know that I have been taking my thyroid medication unevenly.
In fact, i know how much of an understatement that is.Like… sometimes I forget to take it all for a week, which is why my last prescription, which was for one month, lasted me for three months. I didn’t think I could function if it got TOO low, yanno?
I saw my doctor–at a free clinic but he is my doctor– last night, and my parathyroid levels were at 14. something. They should be at 0.4 to 0.2. parathyroid is the peptide our bodies send out to tell the thyroid how much hormone it should make. Mine doesn’t respond at all anymore, evidently, and either I take my replacement or I go very much wanting.And my wieght is up pretty high too, when I thought I had been bringing it down.
I feel pretty miserable just now. That sense of stupidity, when you KNOW you haven’t been doing what you should.
I have my meds, and I took them at the right time this morning, but it will take a couple of weeks to ramp back up into normal levels.
What I tell you three times is true
I guess the best thing about being an agony aunt on a large and chaotic forum system is that one will come up with better and batter ways to say things. This version kinda went over well;
I have been talking a lot about the disconnect between the terms “Dom” and “sub” and the things we actually mean by those words. I looked at your profile and it seems to me, not that a profile is any real proof of anything, that you maybe don’t actually want to DOMINATE and impose your will on your partners, as you want to TOP them and show them a helluva good time.
“Dom” and “Sub” have real meanings. it’s possible that when you talk with your wife, she is hearing something much much bigger than what you mean.
For starters, I suggest that you avoid referring to yourself as a capital-dee-Dom in her hearing– and even more so, not as capital-em-Me. Try talking about your topping abilities instead, minus the psycho drama.
It can be difficult, sorry to say, for a wife who has laundered her husband’s skid marks out of his tighty-whities, to accept his almighty sexual prowess and magnificent lordly dominess just on his say so– but she might be able to trust you to get her to heaven in the bedroom.
So instead of telling her “SUBMIT UNTO ME WOMANNNNN” try; “Honey, I have this sexy technique I would like to show you, with your permission. It’s just a sexy thing. I would just love to serve your needs with my expertise.”
Then you play with something you think she might like– something sexual rather than sensation oriented, or vice versa if she’s less sexually inclined.
If she likes it, you will eventually be “allowed” to top the cream right out of her. And then, if you still find it necessary, you can introduce submission — the real, soul-deep idea– to her.
Or, who knows– find it in yourself. I admit it– I’m romantic that way.
Short version;
“Service top” will get you close to your first goal, which is getting her to dip her toe in the water.

There is a difference between what many women want, and expect, from BDSM– and byt BDSM I mean the whole kit and kaboodle of acronyms that describe WIITWD– and what many men want– and presumably, expect.
The disparity can be summed up, I think, by these two excerpts. One is a BDSM erotic Romance, and you can clearly notice the focus on the relationship– and the future relationship. The other is military porn and you might notice the focus on the satisfaction of the hero’s carnal lust– and blood lust, and power lust.
